FOXBORO, Mass. — For the second straight day, a new tight end took the practice field with the New England Patriots.

The Patriots added tight end Austin Traylor to their practice squad Tuesday. Wednesday’s addition, was Matt Lengel, who New England signed off the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad. The Patriots’ practice squad is full, but they had an open spot on the 53-man roster after trading linebacker Jamie Collins.

Wide receiver Chris Hogan wasn’t present for the beginning of Wednesday’s practice. He was out with an illness, the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe reported. Rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who is on injured reserve, warmed up with his teammates but didn’t wear shells like the rest of the Patriots.

The Patriots disperse for their bye week Thursday. They’re off until Monday at the earliest.
