Patriots Practice Report: Austin Traylor Among Two New Players Spotted

UPDATE (2:55 p.m.): The Patriots’ new tight end has been identified as Austin Traylor, a 6-foot-3, 255-pound rookie out of Wisconsin. He previously has spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers. He signed to New England’s practice squad.

ORIGINAL STORY: FOXBORO, Mass. — The New England Patriots not only had perfect practice attendance Tuesday. There also were two new players spotted.

It appears guard Chase Farris has re-signed to the Patriots’ practice squad. There also was a new tight end on the field wearing No. 81. The Patriots had two open spots on their practice squad and one on their 53-man roster entering Tuesday.

Running back Dion Lewis participated in his third consecutive practice.

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Patriots held practice at 1:30 p.m., and the session only was expected to last an hour.
