Ravens Apparently Studied Rule Book, Secure Win By Holding Everyone On Final Play

So, maybe the Baltimore Ravens took Tom Brady’s advice?

The New England Patriots quarterback famously trolled John Harbaugh and the Ravens by telling them to “study the rule book” after they were upset with some formations the Pats used in the teams’ 2014 divisional-round matchup, and it appears they have done just that.

Leading the Cincinnati Bengals 19-12 with 11 seconds remaining, the Ravens lined up to punt on a fourth-and-8 from their own 23-yard line, although they never actually kicked the ball. Instead, they intentionally held everyone on the Bengals and took a safety as the clock ran out.

Believe it or not, that is totally legal since the game can end on an offensive penalty, unlike a defensive one.
