Skip Bayless Wonders Aloud If Bill Belichick Is Losing It, Because Of Course

Skip Bayless has another football opinion that’s probably going to make just about everyone roll their eyes.

The premier sports debate figure in the entire world (in his eyes, at least) concocted his latest hot take around New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and Bayless is starting to wonder whether the four-time Super Bowl winner (as a head coach) has lost a step or two.

Some admittedly head-scratching Patriots moves — primarily trading Chandler Jones before the season and now Jamie Collins — prompted Bayless’ seemingly zany take. He also cited Belichick’s coaching decisions in the Patriots’ final two games of the 2015 season — losses against the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins — for his reasoning.

Former Patriots executive Michael Lombardi, who’s made plenty of Patriots-related news himself this week, explained the Patriots’ line of thinking in the segment on Bayless’ new FOX Sports 1 show “Undisputed.”

Sports Illustrated’s Greg Bedard wrote earlier this week that if Belichick’s personnel decisions come back to bite him this season, people are going to start wondering whether he’s on the back nine of his career, so Bayless’ take isn’t totally out of left field.

That being said, questioning the head coach of a 7-1 team who’s had as much success as Belichick has is a bit perplexing itself.
