It’s no secret Tom Brady has been red hot since returning from his four-game suspension to begin the 2016 NFL season. But could he actually win an NFL MVP award while playing just 12 games?
Vegas seems to think so.
The most notable movement in the MVP odds is Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who has jumped to “second place” during Seattle’s climb into the No. 2 seed in the NFC.
It clearly shows the oddsmakers’ confidence in Brady and the Patriots, though, to see running back Ezekiel Elliott, who’s led the Dallas Cowboys to the best record in the NFL, in third place, and Derek Carr, who has led the Raiders to a first-place tie with the Pats, in a distant fifth.
Still, if Brady keeps up his current pace, he’s the clear favorite. The 39-year-old ranks second in completion percentage (70.4%), third in passing yards per game (319), second in yards per attempt (9.3), first in quarterback rating (123.3) and first in total QBR (85.9). In the six games since his return, the Patriots are scoring 31.6 points per game, which would rank second just behind Atlanta’s 32.0 per game this season.
Those numbers look pretty valuable to us.
