Your wallet will feel a lot lighter if you end up buying tickets for UFC 205.

The anticipation surrounding the first UFC event in New York City, which has a stacked card featuring three title bouts, is off the charts and it’s being reflected in the secondary ticket market.

As of Wednesday morning, the cheapest ticket on SeatGeek to get inside Madison Square Garden is slightly more than $600 before fees. There are also Octagon-side seats going for $20,000 per ticket on StubHub.

TicketIQ, a site that tracks ticket prices on the secondary market, said that the average resale price topped $2,000 and they released a graph that shows the average ticket price has increased over the last six weeks.

UFC 205 Tickets

According to TicketIQ, UFC 205 will be the most expensive UFC event since they began tracking ticket price data in 2010.

The high prices are easily explainable. Aside from being the first-ever UFC event in New York City since the state of New York revoked its MMA ban earlier this year, UFC 205 is headlined by a champion-versus-champion bout featuring featherweight belt-holder Conor McGregor and lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. The highly-popular McGregor will try to make history by becoming the first fighter to win belts in two different weights in the lightweight championship bout.
