There still are five weeks left in the 2016 NFL season, but one team already is on the verge of securing a playoff spot.

The Dallas Cowboys have the best record in the league at 10-1, and they have an opportunity to clinch an NFC postseason berth Sunday. However, the ‘Boys don’t control their own destiny yet.

Here’s what has to happen for Dallas to clinch a playoff spot this weekend:

Win + Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss or tie
OR
Win + Washington Redskins loss

The Cowboys have a meeting with the Vikings in Minnesota on Thursday night, but neither team will be on short rest, as they both played on Thanksgiving. The Bucs play the Chargers in San Diego on Sunday, while Washington goes to Arizona to take on the Cardinals.
