The Boston Bruins currently are ninth in the Eastern Conference, but they’re far more profitable than the 2016-17 standings imply.

According to Forbes, the team has a current value of approximately $800 million, good for fifth in the NHL. The New York Rangers ($1.25 billion), Montreal Canadiens ($1.12 billion), Toronto Maple Leafs ($1.1 billion) and Chicago Blackhawks ($925 million) are the only four teams ahead of the Black and Gold.

Forbes’ listed value for the Bruins is a seven percent increase from last year, with the team currently bringing in an estimated $169 million in revenue and holding an operating income of $33.5 million.

For those wondering, the league’s least valuable team, according to Forbes, is the Carolina Hurricanes, who currently are worth $230 million.

While the B’s are in the top five on the Forbes list, we’re sure they’d also like to be in the top five in the Eastern Conference, as well.
