In November, Conor McGregor became the only simultaneous dual-weight champion UFC has ever had. Now, the UFC star will take his combat talents to the Seven Kingdoms.

A report surfaced Monday that McGregor would be joining the cast of the HBO hit television series “Game of Thrones,” and UFC president Dana White confirmed the news in an interview with “Fox Sports Live” on Tuesday.

“I did hear that,” White said. “I knew a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show. I’m glad he did it. It will be great. The show is huge. I’m happy for him.”

HBO hasn’t revealed what part of the quest for the Iron Throne McGregor will play or if it’ll be more than a cameo, but UFC and “Game of Thrones” fans alike wouldn’t mind if a showdown with the Mountain occurred.
