Jaguars’ Jalen Ramsey Blasts ‘Homer’ Officiating After Loss To Texans

It’s a pretty tough time to be a Jacksonville Jaguar.

The lowly Jags blew a 12-point lead to Brock Osweiler Tom Savage and the Houston Texans on Sunday in a 21-20 loss that dropped them to 2-12 on the season and prompted the firing of head coach Gus Bradley.

Suffice it to say, there was plenty of finger-pointing after the game, most notably from Jalen Ramsey. The rookie cornerback wasn’t happy about getting called for defensive pass interference on a Houston touchdown drive, and he let reporters know.

“All I know is I started that drive with my mouthpiece on my helmet, I ended that drive and my mouthpiece was on their sideline,” Ramsey said, via the Houston Chronicle. “I’m not sure how that happens without getting called hands to the face but it did.”

Ramsey didn’t stop there, as Jacksonville’s No. 6 overall pick decided to put a specific official on blast.

“Specifically I want to call out, I don’t know his name, I don’t really care for it, field judge No. 104, by far the worst official in the NFL,” Ramsey said. “He needs to be fired 100 percent, terrible, terrible, terrible.”

“Field judge No. 104” was line judge Dale Shaw, and Ramsey took things one step further, even suggesting that Shaw must be related to Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins considering how he called Sunday’s game.

“(Shaw) may be a kin to Hopkins or something, I don’t know,” Ramsey said. “He’s just a homer; I feel like the whole officiating crew, they were homers.”

Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman was fined $25,000 earlier this season for criticizing the referees, so we’d imagine Ramsey will be paying for these comments.
