Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston has settled his federal lawsuit that was filed by the woman who accused him of sexual assault, while he was a quarterback at Florida State University, according to TMZ

The 2013 Heisman Trophy winner was accused of sexually assaulting Erica Kinsman at her apartment in December of 2012. Winston was never charged with a crime by the police in Tallahassee, and the Florida state attorney’s office declined to pursue charges. The lawsuit filed by Kinsman accused the Buccaneers quarterback of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The countersuit that Winston filed against Kinsman for defamation will be dropped once the settlement is finalized.

Kinsman also has settled a lawsuit against Florida State University for their handling of her Title IX complaint, where they agreed to pay her $950,000. Florida State also is required to participate in sexual assault awareness programs for five years and to publish reports for those programs as part of the settlement.

The lawsuit was due to be heard in U.S. District Court in Ontario, Fla., on April 3. The details of the settlement have not yet been made public.
