The video of Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon punching a female student in the face was released Friday, and it is very disturbing.
The video of the incident, which happened in 2014, shows the woman, Amelia Molitor, and Mixon get into an altercation at Pickleman’s Gourmet Cafe in Norman, Okla. The altercation ended when Mixon punched Molitor in the face and immediately exited the cafe.

The video was released by Mixon and his attorney, Blake Johnson, weeks after the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled in favor of releasing the video after the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters sued the town of Norman.
“Mr. Mixon asked us to once again say he is sorry for the way he reacted that night. He has apologized publicly to Ms. Molitor, her friends, his family, teammates and the University,” Johnson wrote in a letter, via NewsOK.com. “He hopes that his voluntary release of these recordings will help put this matter to rest.
“While Mr. Mixon is not a party to the OAB lawsuit and has not been directed by the Court to make any disclosure, he does not see any reason for the release of the recording at issue in that lawsuit to be delayed any longer.
“Further delay appears only to be generating unfounded speculation about what is shown in that video. We also see no reason to withhold the second recording we received from Ms. Molitor’s attorneys and so have included it as well.”
Molitor is suing Mixon, who pled guilty to a misdemeanor and was on probation for a year, according to NewsOK.com. He was suspended for the 2014-15 season, and he currently is a redshirt sophomore for the Sooners.
