Tony Romo in royal blue and red? It could happen, according to one NFL rumor.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that the Buffalo Bills would be interested in Dallas Cowboys veteran quarterback Tony Romo this offseason should the team decide to move on from second-year starter Tyrod Taylor.

Buffalo gave Taylor a six-year, $90 million contract last offseason, but put an opt-out clause in after the first year so it could take another year to evaluate Taylor and get out of the contract should it decide to go in another direction.

“If they decide to move on from Tyrod, I would expect them to be active in the veteran quarterback market,” Rapoport reported on NFL Network on Sunday.

“Specifically: Tony Romo, so that is one veteran quarterback. Another one we’re keeping an eye on: Carson Palmer. He’s 36 years old, described to be very tired and beat up. Still wants to win as much as always, but it has been a long road and this is someone I get asked about a lot. Regarding his future, from what I understand, he has not yet made a decision on what he wants to do after 2016. He’s too focused on trying to win this year.”

Rapoport added on NFL.com that the Bills also could be interested in Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler and San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick in addition to Romo and Palmer, and tweeted that the Bills are “a dark horse for Tony Romo if they move on” from Taylor in the spring.
