A three-team logjam atop the AFC South standings will be broken this weekend when the surging Indianapolis Colts host the fading Houston Texans as 6 1/2-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Indianapolis has recorded straight-up wins in three of its past four games to pull even with slumping Houston, which enters Sunday afternoon’s Texans vs. Colts betting matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium on a dismal three-game SU and against the spread slide, leaving the squads with identical 6-6 records.
The Texans have hit the skids since opening the season on a 6-3 SU run, scoring just 16.5 points per game over their past six games, and have recorded just one SU win in 14 all-time visits to Indianapolis.
Houston and Indianapolis have company atop the AFC South standings entering Week 14. The 6-6 Tennessee Titans will try to maintain their share of first place with a win when they host the Denver Broncos as narrow one-point home favorites Sunday.
The Titans have failed to record consecutive SU wins in their past five games and are 3-7 ATS in their past 10. However, they have run up the score in recent home dates, averaging 34.25 points per game over their past four outings while going 3-1 SU.
Trailing by 1 1/2 games in the AFC West, the Broncos are desperate for a win to maintain control of the second AFC wild-card spot, but they should be heartened by their recent 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS record against Tennessee.
Elsewhere, the Pittsburgh Steelers aim for a fourth straight SU win as they visit the sagging Buffalo Bills as three-point favorites Sunday.
The 7-5 Steelers are knotted with Baltimore atop the AFC North standings but trail on tiebreakers. However, Pittsburgh is an impressive 9-1 SU and ATS in its last 10 games against the Bills, who are winless SU in three games against teams with winning records.
The Ravens look for their fifth SU win in their past six games when they battle the New England Patriots on “Monday Night Football” as seven-point underdogs. New England is just 2-2 SU and ATS in its past four home games and 2-2 SU in its last four games against the Ravens. New England has covered just three times in its past nine dates with Baltimore.
In other NFL Week 14 action, the Seattle Seahawks can clinch the NFC West title with a win when they visit the Green Bay Packers as three-point favorites Sunday afternoon. And later in the day, the Dallas Cowboys aim to capture the NFC East crown with a 12th straight SU win.
