Patriots Practice Report: Glenn Gronkowski Returns; Four Absent

FOXBORO, Mass. — One Gronkowski brother returned to New England Patriots practice Friday. Unfortunately for Patriots fans, it was Glenn Gronkowski, not his older brother Rob, who is undergoing back surgery Friday.

Glenn, a fullback, presumably re-signed for his fourth stint this season on the Patriots’ practice squad, replacing tight end Kennard Backman, who has been absent two straight days.

Wide receiver Matthew Slater (foot), safety Jordan Richards (knee), defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton (illness) and Rob Gronkowski (back) were absent from Patriots practice.
