Where Does Chris Sale Trade Rank Among These Other Boston Blockbusters?
The Red Sox have made some notable moves in recent years, but their trade with the Chicago White Sox for left-handed ace Chris Sale sent shock waves throughout Major League Baseball at the 2016 winter meetings. Boston, which already had a talented team, now figures to be among the World Series favorites going into the 2017 season.
Not only that, but Sale is turning just 28 years old and is under contract for the next three seasons. So, although the Red Sox surrendered a talented pool of prospects to complete the move, it’s one that could benefit Boston for several years if its suddenly scary rotation lives up to its lofty expectations.
