The Boston Red Sox used a four-run eighth inning to defeat the Chicago Cubs 6-2 at Fenway Park on Sunday night.

Starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez was brilliant in six innings of work. The left-hander allowed one run on five hits while striking out nine and walking two.

The four-run eighth inning was due in large part to the savvy baserunning of Marco Hernandez, who scored the first run of the inning on a wild pitch to give the Red Sox a one-run lead.
