NFL Trade Deadline Live Blog: Jay Ajayi Reportedly Traded To Eagles

4:12 p.m.: The Buffalo Bills reportedly have made a significant acquisition as they make a push for the playoffs.

3:53 p.m.: The Jets have reportedly made a trade.

3:45 p.m.: Nothing doing on the Colts’ front, it appears.

3:19 p.m.: We’re under an hour to go now, and it doesn’t sound like much is happening. In fact, names keep dropping off the board, not because they’re being traded but because teams are thinking better of dealing said players. The latest example of that? Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

There also were very unsubstantiated rumors about Larry Fitzgerald … but he’s at practice, for now at least.

2:33 p.m.: There’s been no shortage of Martavis Bryant talk over the last week or two, and the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver wants out of the Steel City. It’s unlikely he gets his wish, however, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

1:50 p.m.: Things have quieted down some in the last couple of hours, but it certainly would be interesting (and admittedly surprising) if the Cleveland Browns swing a Josh Gordon trade before the 4 p.m. ET deadline.

12:25 p.m.: Derrick Henry has established himself as the premier back in Tennessee, which seems like it might make DeMarco Murray expendable.

11:40 a.m.: With Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension back on, at least for now, it seems as if the Dallas Cowboys are in the market for running back depth.

11:05 a.m.: If the Miami Dolphins aren’t done shipping out skilled players, Odell Beckham Jr. would like it if Jarvis Landry could join him in New York.

However, it sounds like an LSU reunion isn’t in the cards and Landry ultimately will stay put.

11 a.m.: It should surprise no one that the Indianapolis Colts figure to be one of the busiest teams on deadline day.

9:35 a.m: Something to keep an eye on with Jay Ajayi.

9:20 a.m.: The Miami Dolphins have made the day’s first big splash, reportedly sending running back Jay Ajayi to the Philadelphia Eagles.

7:55 a.m.: It could be a busy day within the AFC East; the Miami Dolphins, coming off an embarrassing Thursday night loss to the Baltimore Ravens, could be poised for a shake-up.

7:45 a.m. ET: Bill Belichick has long been a fan of Halloween, so perhaps it’s fitting he did his biggest wheeling and dealing before the NFL’s Oct. 31 trade deadline.

The New England Patriots shocked the football world Monday night when they reportedly traded backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a 2018 second-round pick. The blockbuster deal came roughly 20 hours before the Tuesday afternoon deadline, potentially setting the stage for a wild day in the league.

The NFL trade deadline usually is much ado about nothing, but it does feel like there are more big names being tossed around in rumors. Will the Seattle Seahawks — who already acquired Duane Brown from the Houston Texans — look to move Jimmy Graham? What about the Indianapolis Colts? With their season circling the drain and Andrew Luck still out, might they go full tank and trade away a marquee player like T.Y. Hilton?

If past years are any indication, the answer to those questions probably are “No,” but the Garoppolo and Brown deals came out of nowhere; might there be more on the way?

We’ll have all the latest news and rumors leading up to the 4 p.m. ET deadline, so keep it here all day.
