David Backes’ physicality paid dividends for the Boston Bruins on Thursday night against the Arizona Coyotes.
In the second period at TD Garden, Backes outmuscled a pair of Coyotes defenders and perfectly deflected a Riley Nash wrister into the back of the net to give Boston a 2-1 lead.
