‘Tis the season of giving, and Tamba Hali proved Saturday night that not all NFL players are Grinches toward their opponents.

Hali’s Kansas City Chiefs earned a crucial 30-13 win over the Los Angeles Chargers to take sole possession of first place in the AFC West. But rather than gloat over the victory, the pass-rush specialist decided to pull aside Chargers second-year defensive end Joey Bosa to teach him a few tricks of the trade.

These aren’t just postgame formalities, either. Hali, a 34-year-old veteran with five Pro Bowl appearances, spends some serious time with Bosa working on the 22-year-old’s technique and passing along some of the moves that helped him tally 89 1/2 career sacks to date.

If you’re surprised Hali would go out of his way to help a player on a division rival, don’t be: The NFL is a tight-knit fraternity, and players often are more than willing to help guys at their position improve their craft.
