The plight of the New York Knicks fan is well-documented. Jon Stewart added to that documentation Monday night.

The former host of “The Daily Show,” a New York native, was in the front row at Madison Square Garden to watch his beloved Knicks take on the mighty Golden State Warriors. The Knicks lost, of course, and caused Stewart considerable anguish in the process.

Why? Because he had to watch Warriors big man JaVale McGee, of all people, hit a ridiculous fall-away shot in the third quarter.

That about sums up the Knicks fan’s experience.

Stewart’s dumbfounded look wasn’t without merit: The 7-foot McGee is averaging just 4.2 points per game this season and is about as known for his offense as Stewart is for his cameo in “Big Daddy.”

Fortunately for Stewart, the 11th-place Knicks don’t play at home again until March 11.
