Paying college athletes is a slippery slope, but it’s clear what side of the argument Lonzo Ball is on.

The tired debate regarding the NCAA was fired up in a big way Friday after a report revealed several current and former college basketball players received money from an agent while in school.

While the report targeted one specific agency, it appears most college athletes across the nation are being paid. At least that’s what Ball believes.

“Everybody knows everybody’s getting paid,” Ball told the Los Angeles Times. “That’s just how it is. Everybody’s getting paid anyway, you might as well make it legal. That’s how I feel.”

Ball’s revelation isn’t exactly shocking, as most sports fans seem to be under the impression that college athletes are compensated in one way or another. But the Lakers rookie’s complete bluntness about the issues sheds light on the current state of the NCAA.

But maybe paying college athletes isn’t as widespread as Ball perceives it to be. Former NBA forward and Ohio State product Jared Sullinger had a hilarious way of explaining how he didn’t receive a dime while playing college hoops.
