Stop us if you’ve heard this before: Isaiah Thomas is talking about his former team.

Much like he did after the Boston Celtics traded him to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Thomas has been vocal since the Cavs shipped him to the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the NBA trade deadline. And the diminutive guard continued that trend during a recent interview for ESPN’s “E:60” series.

“I didn’t think they would pull the trigger that fast, 15 games,” Thomas said. “But again, it’s a business. And the Cavs were, I mean, they were in panic mode. We were losing — a lot.

“And I think they felt like they needed to make a move, and they, they basically cleared house.”

Listen, it’s a free country, and Thomas can say whatever he wants, whenever he wants. But the fact remains he’s gone from one of the NBA’s most likable players to one if its most insufferable in a matter of months.

Still, it’s hard to not feel bad for a guy who once appeared destined for a huge contract, but likely now is headed for a significantly smaller contract — through little fault of his own.
