USA Women’s Hockey Goalie Gets Awesome Wikipedia Update After Winning Gold

Maddie Rooney is far more than an Olympic gold medal-winning goalie — according to Wikipedia.

The 20-year-old netminder helped the U.S. women’s hockey team earn a thrilling 3-2 shootout win over Canada on Thursday to capture gold at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The victory marked the program’s first Olympic gold since the 1998 Games in Nagano, Japan.

Shortly after the triumph, Rooney’s Wikipedia page received a fittingly hilarious update: Her “Position” title was changed from “Goaltender” to “Secretary of Defense.”

Looks like you have the day off, Jim Mattis.

Rooney made the save on Canada’s Meghan Agosta that clinched the victory for the U.S., so she had plenty of reason to celebrate.

We only can imagine the reception Rooney will receive upon returning to the University of Minnesota Duluth.
