Adorable Dog Performs Ceremonial Puck Drop For Avalanche-Coyotes Game

Dogs are great.

That was on full display Saturday in Denver before the Colorado Avalanche took on the Arizona Coyotes.

The Avs celebrated “Military Appreciation Day” at Pepsi Center during the game, and as part of the ceremonies, they had a had a unique twist to their ceremonial puck drop. They decided to bring a member of the armed forces and his companion dog Vincent to the ice — and Vincent expertly performed the drop.

Take a look:

Now that’s a good boy.

Of course, there’s no way anyone can be so close to a dog like that and not indulge in giving him a few pets. And even though he was mere moments from the game beginning, Avs captain Gabriel Landeskog made sure to give old Vinny a few pets for a job well done.

What pure creatures.

The Avs ultimately crushed the Coyotes 5-2, so we’ll accept that as a reason to have a dog do the ceremonial puck drop before every game.
