Charlie McAvoy has been a bright spot for the Boston Bruins all season long, but the B’s had to do it without him Saturday night.

Inside the first minute of Saturday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens, McAvoy left with a lower body injury after being hit by Brendan Gallagher. He was unable to put weight on his left leg and did not return to the game.

While the loss of McAvoy was a big one for the B’s, the remaining five defensemen filled in valiantly in the B’s 2-1 overtime win at TD Garden.
