Conor McGregor Vs. Floyd Mayweather UFC Odds: Vegas Ready For MMA Clash

Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. might never square off inside the octagon, but Las Vegas at least is preparing for the possibility.

Odds for a potential MMA fight between McGregor and Mayweather have been released, and McGregor, a two-division UFC champion, is listed as a huge favorite over the undefeated boxer.

As of Monday, Bovada had McGregor at -900 and Mayweather at +550. The Westgate SuperBook, which mandates the fight must be MMA only and occur before Sept. 1, 2019, listed McGregor as a -1000 favorite and Mayweather as a +650 underdog.

This obviously is a role reversal from their August 2017 boxing match, for which Mayweather opened as a massive favorite. Mayweather closed at around -500 odds at most sportsbooks for the boxing match, largely because so many bets were placed on McGregor. But odds were released at Westgate in February 2017 even before that fight was announced, with Mayweather as the -2500 favorite and McGregor the +1100 underdog, as noted Tuesday by ESPN.com.

Mayweather defeated McGregor via 10th-round TKO last August to run his professional boxing record to 50-0. It was McGregor’s first pro boxing match, though, and an MMA showdown would be a whole different beast.

It’s tough to tell whether Mayweather is serious about potentially transitioning to MMA for a fight against McGregor — or anyone, for that matter — but that hasn’t stopped him from teasing the idea on several occasions. He even plans to start training with UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
