David Price’s transition back to starting pitching got off to a good start Thursday afternoon in Fort Myers.
The Boston Red Sox starter mowed through the Toronto Blue Jays in his first Grapefruit League outing of the season, tossing four scoreless innings while allowing just one hit, striking out five and walking one.
Take a look at his five strikeouts:
After dealing with injuries throughout the 2017 season that required two separate visits to the disabled list, Price finished the campaign out of the bullpen. He was thoroughly dominant pitching in relief, especially in the postseason.
While the pitching as a whole was underwhelming against the Houston Astros in the American League Division Series, Price tossed a combined 6 2/3 shutout innings, allowing five hits with six strikeouts and a pair of walks in his two relief outings.
It appears he’s picking up where he left off last October.
