John Farrell sure is keeping busy.

The former Boston Red Sox manager recently joined the Cincinnati Reds organization as an adviser, but that isn’t the only job he’ll have for the 2018 Major League Baseball season. Farrell also will serve as a studio analyst for ESPN’s “Baseball Tonight,” the network announced Friday.

“John is a World Series champion who brings a wealth of knowledge, plus the always-valuable manager’s perspective,” Seth Markman, ESPN’s senior coordinating producer, said in a press release.

Farrell will make his “Baseball Tonight” debut Wednesday night, March 28, at midnight on ESPN2 for the show’s season preview edition. He will make regular appearances on “Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown,” which is ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” pregame show, throughout the season.

Farrell’s new gig at ESPN will represent a reunion of sorts, as he’ll work alongside several commentators, including former major league catcher David Ross, who played for Farrell on the Red Sox in 2013 and 2014.

Farrell, fired by the Red Sox in October, spent five years as Boston’s manager, winning a World Series title in 2013 and American League East division titles in 2016 and 2017. The Red Sox subsequently hired Alex Cora, who also spent time as an ESPN analyst after retiring as a player.
