Floyd Mayweather Jr. continues to tease a jump to mixed martial arts.

Mayweather recently confirmed to TMZ Sports he plans to begin training with UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley soon, suggesting perhaps the retired boxer is serious about accepting an MMA fight.

Mayweather, 41, announced his retirement from boxing after defeating Conor McGregor last August to run his professional record to 50-0. He since has mentioned a possible transition to MMA on several occasions, though, with UFC president Dana White even telling ESPN in December the promotion was talking to Mayweather about striking a deal.

It’s unclear who Mayweather would fight if he joined UFC, but McGregor, a two-division UFC champion, obviously would be a massive favorite in a rematch inside the octagon. That said, Mayweather wasn’t shy about giving himself some credit while discussing his MMA skills.

“I can wrestle. My wrestling game is not that bad,” Mayweather told TMZ Sports. “On a scale of 1 to 10, it’s probably a 7. And I think we can take it up to a 9 if possible. Of course, my hand game, 1 to 10, is 100. My kicking game, on a scale of 1 to 10, is probably a 4.”

Clearly, Mayweather has some work to do if he’s serious about making a run in MMA. Maybe his upcoming work with Woodley will do the trick.
