Isaiah Thomas Changes Lakers Jersey Number To Something More Familiar

Isaiah Thomas will sport a not-so-new look going forward.

The Los Angeles Lakers guard has changed his jersey number from 7 to 3, the team announced Thursday on Twitter.

Thomas wore No. 7 at the outset of his Lakers career because Corey Brewer had his preferred No. 3 at the time of his Feb. 8 arrival via trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Lakers bought out Brewer’s contract last week, paving the way for Thomas to claim the No. 3 jersey.

Thomas previously wore No. 3 during his tenures with the Phoenix Suns and Cavs. He also wore No. 4 with the Boston Celtics and No. 22 with the Sacramento Kings.
