Jalen Rose’s Grandma Trash Talks Sister Jean Ahead Of Final Four Matchup

The No. 11 seeded Loyola-Chicago Ramblers made their first Final Four in 55 years when they defeated No. 9 Kansas State to win the South Region on Saturday.

The Ramblers’ incredible run has been due to their disciplined offensive approach and a number of clutch shots by Clayton Custer, Ben Richardson and Marques Townes. And don’t forget about Sister Jean, the team’s 98-year-old chaplain who has served as a good-luck charm throughout Loyola-Chicago’s journey.

Sister Jean might have met her match, though, in the form of Jalen Rose’s 100-year-old grandmother Mary Belle Hicks.

Hicks sent Sister Jean a message ahead of Loyola-Chicago’s Final Four tilt with No. 3 seed Michigan, where her grandson played, letting the chaplain know that the dream run ends Saturday.

She filmed the trash talk and sent it out on Rose’s Instagram account. You can view the video here.

“Sister Jean, it’s been a good ride. But it’s over Saturday. Go Blue!” Hicks said.

Nothing like a little trash talk to get Final Four week started.

We doubt Sister Jean will respond, but she did rib Charles Barkley over the weekend, so anything is possible.

Michigan and Loyola-Chicago will tip-off at 6:07 p.m. ET on Saturday.
