Is there a chance Kevin Durant could be hooping somewhere other than the Bay Area during the 2018-19 season?

The Golden State Warriors star forward has the ability to opt out of his contract and become a free agent this offseason. And while the 2017 NBA Finals MVP has claimed he isn’t thinking about his contract, Durant gave a hilarious answer to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater when asked about his potential free agency.

From Slater:

“Well, actually,” Durant said, his sarcastic grin obvious, ready to lean into an Internet joke about him. “I want to wait to see who wins the championship and whoever wins that, that’s who I’m going to sign with.”

The 29-year-old superstar was the subject of internet jokes and memes upon arriving in the Bay Area, but that has mostly dissipated after his masterful performance in the Warriors’ NBA Finals win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Durant made sure to note that he is 100 percent certain he will re-sign with the Warriors and that how much he is paid is not an issue.

Looks like the band is sticking together.
