Kirk Cousins To Cardinals? QB’s Photo With Larry Fitzgerald Suggests Possibility

It’s anyone’s guess as to where Kirk Cousins will wind up this offseason.

Cousins’ tenure in Washington effectively ended when the Redskins made a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for Alex Smith. The Skins reportedly toyed with the idea of franchise tagging Cousins in order to deal him, but all signs now point to the veteran quarterback becoming a free agent.

A few teams consistently have been connected to Cousins, most notably the New York Jets and Denver Broncos. However, there might be a surprise team in the NFC that gets in on the Cousins sweepstakes.

While the Arizona Cardinals haven’t been as heavily featured in Cousins-related gossip as other NFL squads, the 29-year-old signal-caller apparently already has chatted with a team representative about making his way out west. Cousins shared an Instagram photo Friday with Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who he happened to run into at an airport. While Cousins left the caption fairly short and sweet, it certainly was noteworthy that he called Fitzgerald a “GREAT recruiter!

It would make sense for Arizona to be interested in Cousins’ services. Carson Palmer called it a career at the conclusion of the 2017 season, leaving a glaring vacancy at the quarterback position. The Cardinals already have the weapons needed for a dynamic offense, so Cousins likely would be able to step in and make an immediate impact.

So, was Fitzgerald really that great of a recruiter? We’ll have to wait and see.
