The Cleveland Browns took another big step Friday in attempting to put a competitive product on the field.
Shortly after reportedly acquiring wide receiver Jarvis Landry from the Miami Dolphins, the Browns agreed to a deal with the Buffalo Bills that will send quarterback Tyrod Taylor to Cleveland in exchange for a third-round pick, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Taylor led the Bills to the postseason in 2017, throwing for 2,799 yards with a 14-4 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He also averaged 28.5 yards per game on the ground and rushed for four touchdowns.
For the Bills, signs now presumably point to either attempting to draft another quarterback or committing to Nathan Peterman, who Buffalo controversially started over Taylor for a game during the middle of last season.
The Browns also own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 draft.
