Mike Evans just made quite bit of cash, and in doing so nearly became the highest paid player at his position.

The Buccaneers wide receiver reportedly signed an extension that will keep him in Tampa Bay through the 2023 season, according to multiple reports. Not only will the deal keep him under contract for the next half-decade, it also will make him the second-highest paid wide receiver in the NFL.

Evans now only will be behind Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Antonio Brown, who is the highest-paid receiver at $17 million per year, and just above Houston Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who makes $16.2 million annually.

The 24-year-old completed his fourth NFL season in 2017, amassing north of 1,000 receiving yards in each campaign while logging 32 total touchdowns.

Though he has played a full 16-game season just once, Evans never missed more than one full game in the other three seasons.
