NFL Rumors: Jets To Hold Private Workouts With These Three QB Prospects

All signs point to the New York Jets going quarterback with their first pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Jets are in need of their next franchise quarterback, and New York effectively put itself in position to obtain a top QB prospect via trade with the Indianapolis Colts. The Jets now own the No. 3 overall selection, and they’ll seemingly have their pick of the litter in terms of drafting a signal-caller.

That’s likely aside from Sam Darnold, who reportedly is “a lock” to be taken No. 1 by the Cleveland Browns. So, with Darnold expected to be unavailable come New York’s first pick, the team is looking at the next best options.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports the Jets held a private workout with Josh Rosen on Thursday, which will be followed by a trip to Wyoming on Friday to work out Josh Allen and a Saturday session with Baker Mayfield in Oklahoma. These reported visits don’t come as too much of a surprise, as all three players are considered to be in the top tier of QB prospects this year.

The Jets currently have just about a month to decide which of these quarterbacks they will draft. But if the New York Giants decide to pick Eli Manning’s replacement at No. 2, it could throw a wrench into their intrastate rival’s plans.
