Ndamukong Suh has spent the last three seasons terrorizing Tom Brady in the AFC East, but could they soon be calling each other teammates?
The Miami Dolphins cut the veteran defensive tackle Wednesday when the new league year started. It was part of a bevy of moves made by the Dolphins which also saw them trade star receiver Jarvis Landry to the Cleveland Browns.
With Suh hitting the open market, the 31-year-old’s name automatically started getting linked to the New England Patriots. The Patriots could use Suh’s presence on the interior of the defensive line, and apparently, the Patriots are a potential landing spot, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
Rapoport took part in a roundtable discussion on Suh on NFL Network and cited the Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints and Patriots as teams that will be involved, with his colleague Mike Garafolo agreeing that New England makes sense.
As Garafolo noted in the video, Suh would need to agree to a pay cut to join the Pats. But early reports have the Nebraska product searching for top dollar rather than a chance to win a title.
While that would seem to take New England out of the running, or at least put them behind teams like the Seahawks, Saints, Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders, you can never say never with general manager Bill Belichick.
