The New England Patriots reportedly are bringing another former Cincinnati Bengals running back to Gillette Stadium on Friday.
Two days after re-signing Rex Burkhead, the Patriots are hosting Jeremy Hill on a free-agent visit, a source told ESPN’s Field Yates on Thursday night.
Hill, 25, has 704 career carries for 2,873 yards with 29 touchdowns in four seasons since coming out of LSU as a second-round pick in 2014. He’s added 67 catches for 484 yards with one touchdown through the air.
The 6-foot-1, 230-pound running back had 37 carries for 116 yards and four catches for 16 yards in seven games before suffering a season-ending ankle injury in 2017.
Hill has spent his entire career with the Bengals. He would compete with Mike Gillislee for the Patriots’ big-back role if signed as a free agent. The Patriots also have Burkhead, James White and Brandon Bolden on their running back depth chart. New England let Dion Lewis walk in free agency this offseason.
