New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is “pretty certain” to return to the New England Patriots in 2018, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Darlington on Saturday night.

Darlington also reported Gronkowski is “more likely to continue his football career than retire at 28 years old.” Gronkowski wouldn’t commit to playing in 2018 after Super Bowl LII.

That’s the good news for Patriots fans. There is some bad news in Darlington’s report, however.

There are “lingering frustrations” between Gronkowski and Belichick, according to Darlington. Gronkowski reportedly has grown tired of the Patriots’ “high-strung culture,” while Belichick has “expressed frustration” with the tight end’s lack of commitment.

A source told Darlington things are not “irreconcilable” between Gronkowski and Belichick.
