Three of the four No. 2 seeds will be in action Friday when the NCAA Tournament continues. Duke, a No. 2 seed, won its first-round matchup against Iona 89-67 on Thursday, so the others will be looking to follow in the Blue Devils’ footsteps.
Purdue is the first No. 2 seed to take the floor Friday afternoon. The Boilermakers will square off with 15th-seeded Cal State Fullerton in an East Region matchup at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
Purdue lost to Michigan in the finals of the Big Ten Tournament, but the Boilermakers have been tough to play against all season, which explains them receiving their highest tourney seed since 1998.
Cal State Fullerton secured an automatic bid by winning the Big West Tournament. The marks the program’s first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2008.
