The outfield may look a little different following Boston Red Sox victories in 2018.
Reason being, Boston’s outfielders are considering eliminating their now-famous “Win, Dance, Repeat” celebration that they do immediately following every Sox win.
Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts indicated during ESPN’s spring training finale broadcast Tuesday that the trio of he, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Andrew Benintendi may put a stop to the celebration and that a decision would be made by Thursday’s Opening Day.
“Debating it. We don’t know yet,” Betts said, as transcribed by NBC Sports Boston. “We don’t know if we’re gonna do it. Then if we do it, we have to just figure out what we’re going to do, so. That’s the debate or talk that’s going on.
“I have no idea what we’re going to do,” Betts later added.
While there still is some time to come to a final decision, we’re down to less than 48 hours for them to determine if they’re going to keep the tradition — which dates back to the 2016 season — going.
