Rob Gronkowski’s Agent Gives Discouraging Update On Retirement Decision

Itching to know whether Rob Gronkowski plans to retire or not?

Well, looks like you’re going to need some patience.

The New England Patriots tight end continues to leave fans in the dark about his plans going forward. Sure, Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that Gronkowski is expected to play next season, but rumors persist that 28-year-old might walk away from football and pursue a career in acting/professional wrestling.

And Drew Rosenhaus, Gronkowski’s agent, didn’t provide much clarity during an appearance on “ProFootballTalk Live” on Friday. When asked when we’ll know whether Gronk plans to retire, Rosenhaus danced around the topic, while also giving it some validity.

“You know, I’m not sure,” Rosenhaus told host Mike Florio “I got together with Rob after the season — and he and I have a great, great relationship — and he said to me, ‘it’s just gonna take some time.’ And that’s all we talked about when it came to football.”

When asked if there’s a “loose ballpark” for when we’ll learn Gronkowski’s decision, Rosenhaus added: “not yet.”

Watch Rosenhaus talk about Gronk at the 11:49 mark in the video below:

Nothing like some good, old-fashioned agent speak.

At the end of the day, there appears to be at least some possibility that Gronkowski ditches the NFL. However, as we get deeper into the offseason, and his Twitter activity grows increasingly vague, it’s starting to look like the 28-year-old superstar is messing with everyone.
