It might not but a full-fledged grudge, but it appears Rudy Gobert still has a bone to pick with Gordon Hayward.

Gobert has been outspoken about his disappointment in Hayward for how the star forward left the Utah Jazz over the summer. Now, with only a handful of games left in the 2017-18 regular season, Gobert still is harping on how Hayward handled his free-agent decision.

“We all know Gordon is a good player,” Gobert told Bob Evans of FOX 13 Salt Lake City, as transcribed by UPROXX. “We all know it’s a business, and sometimes you have to make tough decisions. For my part, it was only the fact that he didn’t really communicate with me. I was trying to reach out to him before, just to have some information. No matter what, I was going to respect his choice. He kind of ignored me. That’s the part I didn’t really like. I was kind of considering him as a brother. We played four years together, went through a lot. And I thought I was important enough to know. Looks like I wasn’t, but we’ve moved on, and I wish him the best.”

The Jazz have exceeded expectations with Hayward no longer in the fold, which might be easing Gobert’s frustration with his former teammate. And while Hayward might have burned some bridges when leaving Utah, he can take solace in the fact that he’s in a great situation with the Boston Celtics.
