If the No. 16 seed UMBC Retrievers have anything to say about it, the answer is yes.
The University of Maryland-Baltimore Country shocked the world Friday when they became the first No. 16 seed to defeat a No. 1 seed, taking down Virginia 74-54 in the first round.
Now, they’ll try to keep their improbable run alive when they face No. 9 Kansas State with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line.
The winner will face No. 5 Kentucky in the semifinals of the South Region.
