Kevin Durant has no intention of shaking up the NBA again in the near future.

The Golden State Warriors superstar told The Athletic’s Anthony Slater he won’t opt out of his contract and become a free agent this offseason. The two-year deal Durant signed last summer allows him to opt out after this season, but he’s enjoying his time with the Warriors so much leaving hasn’t crossed his mind.

“I’m not even thinking about that,” Durant said about his potential to leave the team. “I’m here. I’m here. I ain’t even thought about it.”

Slater then asked Durant whether that mean’s he’s 100 percent certain to return to the Warriors next season.

“Yeah,” Durant responded. “Yeah.”

Durant expects he’ll open negotiations over a long-term contract extension with the Warriors.

“Yeah, I do (feel like that),” Durant said. “Financially, obviously, what I wanted to do last year, it made sense. Well, the last two years, it made sense to do the one-year deal. I’m sure here soon I’ll want to sign a long-term deal just to feel stable. But I’m enjoying every moment of it, so I’m not trying to look too far down the line.”

In the case of Durant’s contract no news is good news for Warriors fans, but it’s always nice to hear it directly from the player’s mouth.
