Alexander Ovechkin is one of the greatest pure goal scorers in NHL history, and the Washington Capitals star reached another impressive milestone Monday night.
Ovi scored his 600th career goal during the second period of Washington’s game against the Winnipeg Jets at the Capital One Arena.
Ovechkin is the 20th player in league history to score 600 goals and one of the fastest to reach this mark.
The Russian forward has tallied nine seasons of 40-plus goals, and his 65 goals in 2007-08 are the most in a single season since Mario Lemieux’s 69 in 1995-96.
