Alex Cora Delivers Positive Update On Mookie Betts’ Foot Injury

Mookie Betts gave Boston Red Sox fans a scare Saturday, but it appears there is no reason to worry.

The Red Sox star suffered a left-foot contusion when he slid into Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco during the first inning of the Sox’s 10-3 win at Fenway Park. Betts exited the game during the fourth inning, but manager Alex Cora said the outfielder showed up ready to play Sunday, despite not being in the starting lineup.

Jackie Bradley Jr. will slide into Betts’ leadoff spot Sunday, but Betts could return for Monday’s series finale with Baltimore.
