UPDATE (Friday, April 6, 7:15 a.m. ET): New York police have charged Conor McGregor with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief following Thursday’s incident at the Barclays Center, according to the New York Police Department.

MMA fighter Cian Crowley, who was part of McGregor’s group that attacked a bus transporting fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, also was charged with assault and criminal mischief.

ORIGINAL STORY: Conor McGregor has turned himself in to police after he and his entourage attacked a bus with UFC fighters on board at the Barclays Center.

The 29-year-old is expected to face charges related to assault, per NBC New York’s Sarah Wallace. McGregor was caught on camera throwing what appears to be a guardrail at the bus that was carrying his rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

UFC fighter Michael Chiesa also was on board the bus when an object McGregor threw broke the glass and cut his face. The injury forced him out of his fight with Anthony Pettis, which was scheduled to take place at the Barclays on Saturday at UFC 223.

UFC President Dana White told reporters that the ordeal was “the most disgusting thing that’s ever happened in the history of this company.”

White also believes McGregor will be sued and doesn’t think anyone will be a McGregor fan after this incident.
