David Ortiz is fraternizing with the enemy, folks.
OK, we’re being a bit dramatic. To quote Big Papi himself, it’s not what you think. But the retired Red Sox slugger was spotted among some notable company Monday night in Miami during Boston’s game against the Marlins.
That’s Ortiz taking in the contest at Marlins Park with former New York Yankees stars Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada, who saw plenty of Big Papi during the height of the teams’ fierce rivalry in the mid-2000s.
Yet those days are in the distant past, and it appears the trio had a lovely time catching up in Miami, where Jeter now is CEO and part-owner of the Marlins.
Big Papi still has plenty of Red Sox mojo, though: Boston clubbed two home runs en route to a 7-3 win as Ortiz looked on.
